Study Tour and Self Reflection Through Teacher Retreat “The Calling”
Recently, educators from Baithani School were once again equipped with regard to the implementation of learning in schools. This preparation was nicely packaged by the committee with various activities titled “THE CALLING.” This event was initiated by Yayasan Gapura Kalpataru Insan Sejahtera – GKI Sulung Surabaya, in collaboration with the Yayasan Baithani Tengger. It took place from Friday, January 12, 2024, to Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the GKI Sulung – Surabaya.
It started on Friday, January 12, 2024, with a Study Tour to Gloria 2 Christian Junior High School in Surabaya. The educators from Baithani School were warmly welcomed by the entire academic community of Gloria 2 Christian School. On this day, all educators had the opportunity to observe firsthand the activities and facilities used at Gloria School. Not only that, the study tour concluded with a sharing session where various topics were discussed, ranging from curriculum and student affairs to facilities and new methods to enhance the quality of learning.

There were three important training sessions received by educators and educational staff from Baithani School, including “The Nature of Student” presented by Dra. Linda Buntoro, M.M., “The Calling of Teacher” also presented by Dra. Linda Buntoro, M.M., and “Strawberry Generation” presented by Hana Yulianik, S.Th. In addition to these, there were additional materials presented by the Committee of the GKI Sulung – Surabaya.
Entrepreneurship training was also provided to educators and educational staff from Baithani School. The event committee invited them to directly observe Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) that are thriving in the Surabaya area. During the visit, educators had the opportunity to see the types of UMKM businesses that are currently popular and in demand in the surrounding areas of Surabaya. The hope is that they can glean insights and implement some of the practices in the Tengger region in the future.

A very valuable experience, this is felt and expressed by Eva Ervian Djune O, SS, who also represents the sentiments of all teachers from Baithani School. All educators and educational staff at Baithani School feel grateful and joyful for the extraordinary opportunity to be equipped once again. This experience serves as a moment to remember and reflect on the meaning of the calling to serve as educators and educational staff at Baithani School.

Finally, the hope from everyone, both the committee and the educators and educational staff, is to implement all that has been gained. They also continue to dedicate themselves with enthusiasm as educators and educational staff at the Baithani educational institution, contributing to the intellectual development of the nation through the field of education.
