Affordable Bazaar in Tosari and Nongkojajar: Initiative Thanks to the Foster Child Program (PAA)
On February 18-19, 2023, the Nongkojajar and Tosari areas of Pasuruan were abuzz with a special event that not only offered shopping enjoyment but also brought about profound positive impacts on the surrounding community. The Affordable Bazaar, organized by the Foster Child Program (PAA) of the Gapura Kalpataru Insan Sejahtera Foundation(YGKIS) in collaboration with Baithani Christian School – Baithani Tengger Foundation (YBT), took center stage in the social activity agenda.
This event is not just an opportunity to shop for affordable items, but also a tangible manifestation of the spirit of mutual cooperation and care for others. Through collaboration, PAA-YGKIS and Baithani Christian School – YBT hope to spread goodness to many people, especially to the parents of students, the surrounding community, as well as YBT teachers and staff.
The Affordable Bazaar offers a variety of products at very affordable prices, ranging from daily necessities to consumables needed by the community. From gently used clothing, household items, to food and beverages, and importantly, also student-made products from Baithani Tengger Christian School, such as instant ginger drinks, carica (a type of papaya), Dutch eggplant juice, and various other snacks. Everything is available at pocket-friendly prices. This not only helps alleviate financial burdens for many families but also promotes a culture of sharing and togetherness.
In addition to its economic aspects, this Affordable Bazaar also has significant social impacts. By involving teachers, staff, and students within the Baithani school community in various preparation and execution activities, the event strengthens familial bonds and builds stronger solidarity among them. Furthermore, bazaar participants not only acquire quality goods at affordable prices but also experience warmth and hospitality from the volunteers involved in organizing the event.
Of course, the success of this Affordable Bazaar would not have been possible without the full support and active participation of various parties, including donors, volunteers, and the participants who enlivened the event. The spirit of kindness and care demonstrated through this event not only provides direct benefits to the community but also serves as an inspiration for similar efforts in the future.
Through this Affordable Bazaar, the Foster Child Program (PAA) of the Gapura Kalpataru Insan Sejahtera (YGKIS) and Baithani Christian School – Baithani Tengger Foundation (YBT) have successfully created a momentum that brings blessings to many.
